GUIDE
FOR
AUDITING PRESS
MEDIA OULETS
The purpose of this guide is to enable users to verify the authenticity and relevance of a media outlet, as well as to determine how such a medium could contribute to the positioning of their personal or business brand.
If the news source in question is not included in Google News, searching for it will yield articles from other sources, but not from the specific media outlet being searched for.
STEP
Verify the Inclusion of the News Source in the Google News Section
Google News is the platform where the search engine categorizes media outlets that are relevant and significant on a global level. If a news source does not appear in this section, it may be considered irrelevant.

To verify the inclusion of a news source, navigate to the Google search engine and proceed to the Google News section. Then, enter the name of the news source in the search bar. If the source is included in Google News, articles published by it should appear with the name and logo of the corresponding media outlet.
STEP

Simply enter the full website link into the search box on SimilarWeb.com. If the media outlet is relevant, it should have at least an average of 300,000 visits.

With these steps, you can determine the authenticity and relevance of a communication medium, which will allow you to make informed decisions about its use for the positioning of your personal or business brand.
